If you have attended a few trade shows you likely have noticed that there are a variety of approaches: from bare-bones tables with a single banner to fully decked-out booths featuring neat graphics and tons of colours. Whether you are on one end of this spectrum, the other, or in between it is important that all of your trade show marketing materials be designed with one goal in mind: to attract and impress visitors.

A primary consideration when deciding on the marketing materials needed is whether you are going to choose one graphic designer and printer for all of your materials (trade show displays, banners, business cards, brochures, giveaways, etc.) or choose different vendors based on pricing and/or preference. If you are attempting to create a cohesive presence at your display booth it is highly recommended that you go the single vendor method, for a variety of reasons.

For one, if you are creating a brand new design for your marketing materials you want them all to work together. This may include using the same graphics or logo on all of your materials, or simply using a complementary colour scheme. By choosing a single vendor you can easily ensure that all of your marketing material looks the same.

Of course, you may be thinking that as long as you choose the same colours and provide the same graphics files to each vendor you should get the same result. The reality is that with the differences in design and rendering programs, as well as printers and types of inks the results can be quite different, and can result in a trade show marketing display that doesn’t quite work together.

Find a good designer and printer that has experience creating the types of trade show marketing materials you are looking for. You will end up with higher overall quality as well as a display that looks professional and polished.
