Roll Up Banners,  Simple Effective Marketing

If you're shopping online for roll up banners, the array of choices can be confusing! There's a dizzying array of base styles, widths and, last but not least, prices! Let me first say that choosing the $99 banner stand special may seem like a smart choice, but the relationship with your $99 banner stand will almost always end badly! For a few extra dollars you can get one with some durability and beneficial features.

Roll Up Banners and Base Styles

Bases on roll up banners vary greatly, you've got bases with 2 feet, bases with a single foot and of course bases with no feet. Base widths range from 24" up to 48".

Your choice really comes down to personal preference and budget. We've got clients who believe a banner stand with two feet is more stable so they opt for that style. In reality this style of banner stand should only be used indoors where there's no wind so it really shouldn't make a difference whether there's feet or not. Many clients will also choose based on the aesthetic appeal or for specific features.

Some stands make it easy to change your own graphics such as the model shown below. This allows us to print new graphics for our clients and ship it to them and they can change the graphic on there own rather than shipping the stand back to us. This is beneficial for clients that have seasonal marketing messages and need to swap out the graphics.

Out in the field clients will occasionally let go of the banner allowing it to slam into the base.  This usually renders the stand unusable. The retractable banner stand shown below has a re-tension slot on the outside of the base that allows you to put tension back on the banner in the event this happens putting you back into business right on site without having to ship it back to us for repair.

Another often ignored issue is the quality of the vinyl used for printing. All vinyl banners are not created equal, cheaper vinyls will curl on the edge and scratch easily. A premium vinyl will hang straight and flat, print beautifully with vibrant colour saturation. We've shown examples below that illustrate curl on a cheaper vinyl.

The options we've just outlined tend to be premium features available only on stands in the price range of $300 to $400 dollars. That being said there are plenty of good quality, durable stands that can be found in the $200 to $250 price point that will represent your company well. The Econo-Tough 33" is a good example of cheaper stand that is more durable than its cheap competitors. Although it looks similar to many cheaper versions the aluminum used in the base is much thicker making it a good choice at the low price point.
